The Christmas Light Fiasco

Last night, we piled our crew into the minivan with the intentions of driving fourty-five minutes to a nearby Christmas light display. Almost instantly, Ian began a tantrum that lasted nearly the entire trip. As it turns out, he had eated pizza (BIG NO NO) at a church event earlier in the evening. Also, he was still realling because the balloon sculpter did not know how to make a Christmas tree balloon. To avoid having Ian jump out of his seat or throw something at the driver, Dad opted to get in the back seat to attempt to calm him down. Dad did a great job protecting us and we all sat silent waiting for Ian's screaming to subside. Finally, after more than a half an hour of thrashing and screaming... he fell asleep. By this time, Lulu was asleep too. We arrived at the park where the light display was waiting for us, only to see the two mile line of cars waiting to get in. Hmmmm.... After the exhausting drive there, none of the three remaining participants were eager to wait, so we headed home. As we drove into our subdivision, Ian woke up, very excited to see the same Christmas lights that we pass by every nite. Mabey we'll try again tonight.
